Transcarpathia could become home to an ambitious new initiative aimed at supporting and nurturing talented children. Ferenc Krausz, Nobel Prize-winning Hungarian physicist, plans to establish an educational center in the region to prepare outstanding talents for international scientific and technological competitions.

The project was announced by Miroslav Biletskyi, the governor of Transcarpathia, on social media after meeting with Ferenc Krausz and Dmytro Taranenko, head of the Batyi community. During the discussion, they developed the center’s core concept, which will provide educational opportunities for Hungarian and Ukrainian children in mathematics, physics, computer science, and later in chemistry and biology.
International Collaboration and Innovation
The center will involve leading experts, experienced educators, and international lecturers to deliver world-class education. Plans include a modern sports facility, a park, a playground, and a dormitory. Ultimately, the initiative envisions building an entire children’s town, positioning the region as a hub for talent development.
Ferenc Krausz emphasized that the project has significant support, including backing from the Hungarian government and the Nobel Foundation. This initiative not only creates new opportunities for the youth of the region but also strengthens Hungarian-Ukrainian cooperation.
