With EU support, the Language APL project has been launched, aiming to promote language accessibility in three counties: Satu Mare (Romania), Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg (Hungary), and Berehove (Ukraine). The project aims to assist local minorities who do not speak the official language of their respective country fluently.
The civil organizations involved in the project, including the Identitas Foundation and the Hodinka Antal Linguistic Research Center, are promoting minority rights and language usage with EU support. The project, with a budget of nearly 300,000 euros, provides information to target groups and offers help to businesses and public institutions in using minority languages, including translating signs and informational materials.
At the end of the project, a conference will be held where international experts will analyze the successful application of multilingualism in public spaces. The initiative also encourages economic cooperation by promoting linguistic diversity.
