Alliance of Hungarians in Vojvodina Gains Seats in the Serbian Parliamentary Elections 

Following early parliamentary elections held in Serbia on December 17, 2023, the Alliance of Hungarians in Vojvodina (VMSZ), the main party representing Hungarians in Vojvodina, made notable gains, boosting representation of the Hungary community to six seats in the Belgrade Parliament. 

The official results, announced by the Election Commission on January 12, 2024, highlight a significant increase for VMSZ, which secured 4,434 more votes than in the previous election. This success translates to an additional member for the VMSZ faction, strengthening its representation with six seats in the Serbian Parliament, up from five.
