WHY HHRF?
Human Rights Research and Advocacy
For 49 years, the Hungarian Human Rights Foundation (HHRF) has championed the human rights of 2 million ethnic Hungarians living as minorities in Croatia, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Slovakia, and Ukraine. HHRF ensures your concerns are heard where and when it matters most by standing up for the rights and dignity of these communities. Together we make a difference.

You can earmark your tax-deductible donation to support our many programs:

  • Reconnect Transylvania+ Scholarship
Scholarship program for motivated Hungarian-American youth to teach and intern in Transylvania
  • Reconnect Hungary Birthright Program

The story of Peyton Snyder from Tennessee highlights the powerful impact of the HHRF’s Reconnect Transylvania+ Scholarship. Peyton spent 10 months in Transylvania, interning at the Democratic Alliance of Hungarians in Romania and teaching at the Kolozsvári Református Kollégium. His experience included launching a new podcast and deep cultural immersion. Peyton now continues his journey in Budapest, pursuing a master’s degree at Corvinus University.

Support the meaningful and lasting difference the Reconnect Transylvania+ Scholarship makes for Kolozsvár’s Hungarian community.
