Kyiv, May 22, 2025 – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met today with representatives of national minorities and indigenous peoples living in Ukraine, according to Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Viktor Mykyta.

The meeting was held in honor of the Day of Interethnic Harmony and Cultural Diversity. President Zelensky expressed his gratitude for the contributions of minority communities to Ukraine’s defense and emphasized their essential role in maintaining national unity and building a democratic future.

Key issues discussed included:

• the implementation of the law on indigenous peoples,
• improving coordination between the government and minority communities,
• addressing educational and language-related matters,
• and revising regulations related to the granting of Ukrainian citizenship to foreigners.

The discussion aimed to reinforce trust and cooperation between the Ukrainian state and its ethnically diverse population, ensuring equal rights, identity preservation, and social inclusion.
