HHRF and EP MEP Loránt Vincze Lead Meetings in Washington, DC

On Monday, May 23, Emese Latkóczy and Petra Kovács of the Hungarian Human Rights Foundation met with EP MEP Loránt Vincze of the Democratic Alliance of Hungarians in Romania in Washington D.C., where they led meetings with Congressional and State Department staff, focusing on the failure to restitute religious properties to the Hungarian community in Romania, as well as the current discrimination against ethnic Hungarians in Slovakia via the Benes decrees. Minority rights violations are human rights violations that need to be raised bilaterally, as well as in European and international forums.
