As a result of Serbia’s parliamentary elections on Sunday, April 3, the Alliance of Hungarians in Vojvodina has won six seats. Two years ago, being the largest Hungarian minority party in Serbia, they won nine seats in the Serbian parliament.

“We have achieved our goals, we have achieved what we wanted,” said president István Pásztor, at a press conference late last night, commenting on the results. In addition to the six ethnic Hungarian representatives, other minority parties are expected to join the parliament as well: one representative from the Albanian minority, two members from the Croatian minority, and two members of one party of the Bosnian minority.
