Nagyon jó hír számunkra, hogy három olyan kulcs-fontosságú politikus, aki eddig is támogatta az amerikai magyar közösséget, novemberben újabb mandátumot kapott Washingtonban! Dennis Ross (R-FL), Marcy Kaptur (D–OH) és Andy Harris (R-MD) elkötelezett hívei a magyar ügynek. A magyar származású Dennis Ross képviselő így üzent a HHRF támogatóinak:

We must stand firm and jointly uphold our nations’ fight for freedom and human rights, for this is the foundation of our principles, our past, and our future prosperity. As Hungarian Americans, we should be anxious to help preserve human rights here and from whence we came. […]

In Romania, ethnic Hungarians have not seen the return of property seized from them under communist rule. […] Since the 1989 revolution in Romania, tens of thousands of restitution cases have been brought forward seeking the return of property. These cases can drag on for decades, and more than 40,000 claims remain today. This cannot and must not be tolerated. We must find ways to facilitate the relief our distant cousins need.

A HHRF megszilárdítja kapcsolatait az új államvezetés poli-tikusaival, és 2017 januárjában személyesen fog találkozni a Trump-adminisztráció szakpolitikusaival. Több lehetősé-günk van az emberi és kisebbségi jogok előremozdítására, kiemelt figyelmet szentelünk a jövőben is az egyházi és közösségi ingatlanok visszaszolgáltatására.
