Hungarians Unite for February 29 Parliamentary Elections in Slovakia

The Hungarian community in Slovakia needs to succeed in the February 29 parliamentary elections and again have representation in the legislature, said the leader of Hungarian Community Association (MKÖ), Gyula Bárdos.

Heading the list of candidates in the new alliance, Bárdos emphasized that the inequality gap of the country’s southern region-where Hungarians live-must be closed, and results guaranteeing our survival and development achieved. The collective rights of minorities must also be guaranteed.

While internal division in the community had failed to secure a mandate for the Hungarian community at the last European Parliamentary elections, Bárdos is now confident that they will be able to make the parliamentary threshold.
